4. Early in the year, I learned the importance of knowing how to use premier pro effectivly. You can see that in my first film,I didnt dp this, espescially in the scene when the edits are not very well editited because I was not familiar with the controls. On my second project, I learned how to do many things like use lots of clips and put together to make a great video. A scene that shows this well is in the film called 'Baler Interviews,' when throughout the whole video you could clearly see the diverse set of clips used in the video. Later in the year, I showed that I really had learned that concept well, since I showed this in other projects. One good example is from 'Baler Swag Rap' in the scenes when you use a voice recorder to record our voices over the clips. This year I have also learned how to use a lot of the special effects. A good example of this is my video called 'Jabberwocky Project" because you could see all the different types of special effect I used in one video. Another skill I have taken from this class is knowing when and how to use the different types of camera angles. in the video 'Final Draft' there are many different scenes like are opeing shot that is called an establishing shot. Last but not least I have also learned how to incorporate music and sound effects into my video making procces. A very clear example of this is in the video called 'Baler Swag Rap' because we had to find the music and make sure it fit well with our voices. 5. In this class I learned a lot about making and watching films. I learned a great skill and that is to make storyboards. Knowing how to make storybords is important because it helps you set up your video and so that ypu dont get off track when your filming. I have also learned how to do script writtings. Before a video you must do a script writting because it has all the words in the video as well as the camera shots/angels. Most importantly, I have learned how to work well with others and that one of the most important to me becasue I could take that skill and imply to other classsrooms. By watching other poeple's films I could see what direction they take it in and it helps me by knowing what my peers think and know in this class. Overall I have many great things that I could use and be succesful later in life. 6. My experiences in this class are one of my most memorable moments in my whole high school carrer. I have met many new people especially new seniors. this year i have accomplished things that I would never see myself doing like making music videos and mostly being in front of the camera as well as in the back. Im definatly going to take new friendships, new skills, and a new me when I leave this class. I just want to say thank you Dr. Achterman for everything youve done and your an awsome teacher.

'The Water is WIde' Reflection

1. The story I was trying to evoke was a soldier coming home fromthe war. I feel that we used the music very well with the theme we were trying to suggest. With the images we selected and the amount of time we had I feel like we got our vision across. My partner Jorge and I are very proud of our video from just listining to the music. With the music it had a very sad mood to it but then it gets more happier. 2. The images that I am most proud of are the first image and the image of the the soliers coming home to their kids. The images help suggest the story by using the powerfulness and the meaning of the image. 3. In our video we didnt really use abstract images because my oartner and I didnt know. Our concistantcy of pictuers are pictures of army soliers and the marine corps. 4. What I learned by using asbstract images was that you could make something out of nothing and it could still have a powerful meaning. 5. What I learned from using images and music is theat evryone has their own vision and opinion when it comes to making a video. 6. The most important contribution was that he found most of the pics and he knew how to do all the effects. 7. The most important contribution I made was that I did most of the editing and I also found some of the pictures.

1. the special effect that we used the best was the gamma effect because we really showed how it was used. Another effect that we used was the emboss effect and it worked really well because we showed the different ways it changes the picture. The mood that we were trying to communicate was dark, gloomy, and scary. The idea we were trying to show was a very dark and scary side and with the use of the effects in my opinon I think my partner and I really made it work.

Special Effects Project

The effect that we used was 'fine edges' which was in the 'stylize' folder. we changed the settings by making the video a little blury and then through out the clip it turned very unclear and a whitish blur. This effect might be used in film to show a person thats changing in his life or possibly dieing.

for the eefect my partner and I have choose, you first select the "Stylize" folder. Then you choose "Emboss". then we adjusted the relief between 0 and 4, set the contrast to 54 and then set the blend to 1%.

Story:
The conflict was between the jock being cool and helped the poor little nerd that fell.
The shots that contributed to the rising action are...
1. The long shot of the two girls walking down the path.
2. The shot of the jock saying, "Now that's what i'm talking about."
3. The shot when the nerd runs up with the umberella.
4. The shot when the nerd falls and starts to cry.
Here are some suggestions about adding to the rising action:
1. You could show that the nerd has a crush on the jock.
2. You could also instead of the nerd tripping by herself maybe have the "mean girls" trip her.
The climax occurred when the jock helps the nerd up.
During the resolution the jock starts to run with the nerd.
You could add to the resolution by having the jock and the nerd hug after he helps her up, and link arms while they're running. This would help give us the idea that The jock is actually very considerate and helping.
Camera shots:
We especially like the long shot of the "mean girls," because it helped emphasize the idea that they were going to be somewhat important in the video.
We think that you might add a shot right after every cut because it feels like we're going in a circle at times. The new shots would be consistent. This would help the flow.
Edits:
On a scale of 1-10, we rate the editing a 5. One edit we would change was between the nerd running up the first and the nerd running up the second time. We aren't sure how the in point/out point are supposed to be set because it makes no sense.
Use of music and sound effects:
There is no music.
Titles and credits:
The title of the film reflected its contents well. It did grab our attention. We don't have any suggestions for the a new title.
The titles were consistent and they were effective.
Overall;
Overall, we thought your film had a good idea/story line but the cuts need to be done better. What we liked best was the acting and the jock helping the nerd. Our strongest suggestion is that you fix all your cuts. (No offense)

1 The shot of the PE students walking out on the field--adds realness to everything
2 The wide shot of the nerd. It showed her emotions more clearly.
3 The shot of the jock and the nerd running off together. It showed the ending clearly.


To add to the rising actions I could show the nerd having a crush on the jock MORE so. It seems like she does but we can't be sure, she might just be really friendly.

The climax occurred when the jock helps the nerd off the ground.

To add to the resolution I'm not too sure.

The shot of the means girls to the jocks was a straight cut. Just the acting added so much to it. It was somewhat comical BUT it worked.

There was no music to comment on.

6 on the editing. I think it could be cleaner and plus there was no music.

The titles and credits to me somewhat fit but they aren't a PERFECT fit to the film.

Overall the film was pretty good. Just need to find music that you can use for it.

The positive comments that were most meaningful to us were from Kayla and Hayley, they told us that we need to fix our editing and that was helpful because. In addition, they told us that our titles and credits were attention-capturing and that helped us see that we did something correctly despite all the things we need to fix.

The two best suggestions we got were from Cassie.

She suggested that we should add some music that suits what we are trying. We agree with this suggestion, and our plan to address it is to find copyright-friendly music online.

She also suggested that we fix our titles and credits because they don’t suit our video. We kind of agree with this suggestion, and our plan to address it is to experiment with different fonts and formats.

5)A problem we had was not having all our cast showing up when we needed to film. Another problem we had was that Lisa is not very good at filming. I think If we had more time to rehearse the filming might have been better, and a lot more productive. I think maybe next time we should really consider another script due to a lot of people and the outside setting.

professional video/ reflection

1. my group had tp plan the over the shoulder shot before we started to shoot because we wanted to have the correct set up.
2. we did no follow the rule of thirds because we set up our camera wrong.
3. the dialogue feels very realistic because the actors were really giving an effort. the editing was really easy to do and we had no problems with that.
4. In the video, the mood is very slow and awkward.
5. when we use the over the shoulder shot, some obersvations that i noticed are that you could see the emotion of the other charater.
6. from doing this excercise my group and I realized that we work really well with each other and that our group understands how to make more videos just like this video.
